Thunar

The Thunar project aims at developing a new file manager for the next major branch of Xfce (the 4.4 branch). The main goal is to provide a fast and easy to use alternative to Xffm; therefore, Thunar should be kept simple.

The name Thunar is just the project name. The release name may be different from Thunar. The current list of suggestions for the release name is available from the Release Name page.

Discussion

The best way to stay informed about Thunar development is to subscribed to the thunar-dev mailinglist, where you could also join the discussion actively. Discussion of Thunar development also takes place in the #thunar IRC channel on irc.freenode.net.

If you don’t want to subscribe to yet another mailinglist, but still interested in the progress of Thunar, you can check my weblog, where I post interesting stuff about Thunar.

Please read the Jobs page and Infrastructure page first, if you are interested to contribute to Thunar.

The thunar-workers mailinglist tracks changes to the Wiki and SVN commits concerning Thunar.
