Installing on SUSE

Thunar packages are available at Packman. Read Packman FAQ how to install Packman packages.

If you don’t want to change your YaST configuration and don’t want to use apt, just download the RPM packages from Packman. You’ll also neeed libexo, libxfcegui4 and libxfce4util.

To activate automatic file monitoring, you have to install the fam and fam-server package (both comes with SUSE on the CD/DVD). The FAM Server must be started at runtime. Just open YaST Runlevel configuration

yast runlevel

and select FAM. Activate it. It should be started immediately and you can run Thunar.
